Any restaurant that you go to in the United States will offer you a variety, large or small, of desserts; Many of these desserts are commonly found in many, if not most, of the restaurants across the US. Today we are going to share our list of desserts that we believe are very common in American restaurants.

This fluffy cake has the shape of a volcano with melted chocolate overflowing the top of the cake, even though its most common flavor is chocolate, some restaurants offer strawberry lava cake, white chocolate or even lemon/orange lava cake. Sometimes, some other restaurants also include an ornament such as mint, or whipped cream.


A famous American dessert, the chocolate biscuit has been reinvented with creativity in restaurants across the country. One of the most popular inventions at the moment is a giant chocolate biscuit cooked in a cast iron skillet and with vanilla ice cream on top of the cookie.

New York Cheesecake

Well known for being one of the most famous desserts of New York City, the cheesecake is thick and creamy, and can be made in many different ways, depending entirely on the restaurant or the personal taste of the chef:

Brownies are another classic American dessert that restaurants across the country have been trying to reinvent over the years. Brownies, which are dense and flat chocolate cakes, are usually served hot and with vanilla ice cream on the side. Some restaurants include nuts, while others will use pieces of dark chocolate inside, others, more daring, stuff hot chocolate fudge inside of brownies, turning them into Lava Brownies.

The easiest dessert to be found in restaurants and dessert stores throughout the whole country, ice cream with hot chocolate is a classic. Usually, with vanilla ice cream covered with hot chocolate fudge, nuts, whipped cream, and sparks, this dessert is perfect for a hot summer day, or whenever the craving.


A whole new dessert is raging across the country! The Fruffle is a dessert that offers the best of all the previous desserts. Picture this: Chocolate brownies covered in melted chocolate fudge and topped with sea salt and pieces of fried sugar. And on the side, you have the option to dip your fruffles in strawberry sauce and whipped cream with mint leaves.

Even though many people claim that cuisine in the US is way behind the quality of the most renowned French restaurants, the truth has to be told. American chefs know what they’re doing when it comes to desserts, by delighting the craving of all the customers who happily visit their restaurants at any time given.
